Moms Swedish Meatballs
When my ancestors came to Minnesota they had to struggle to survive. This recipe shows the adjustments to make a good home cooked meal with limited supplies and with a house to maintain. Enjoy this quick to prepare flavorful Minnesota version of Swedish Meatballs.
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups Dried breadcrumbs
- 1 cup Milk
- 2.5 lbs Ground beef
- 0.5 lbs Ground pork
- 2 whole eggs, beaten
- 0.5 cups Onion, chopped
- 2 tsp salt
- 0.25 tsp pepper
- 0.5 tsp Allspice
- 0.25 tsp Nutmeg
- 1 can Cream of mushroom soup
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients excluding the cream of mushroom together.
- Form into balls.
- Brown in a frying pan.
- Place the meatballs in a large baking pan. Pour the cream of mushroom soup over them.
- Bake at 350F for 90 minutes.
